New MacBook Pro With Mini-LED Display to Arrive Between September and November [Report]

Apple's highly anticipated new MacBook Pro with mini-LED display is set to arrive between September and November of this year, according to a new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Although the company initially planned to release the redesigned notebook earlier this year, issues with mini-LED display production apparently delayed their launch. Gurman now says the laptop will be announced "between September and November at the latest".

The new MacBook Pro could arrive in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. Previous rumors have suggested it will get a flatter design with reduced bezels, a 1080p webcam, SD card reader, three thunderbolt USB-C ports, MagSafe, and HDMI. It's also said to feature an M1X processor that offers more thunderbolt channels, cpu cores, gpu cores, multiple monitor support, and more.

Apple already ships a mini-LED display on the iPad Pro, describing it like this...

Engineered with a new cutting-edge mini-LED design that uses over 10,000 LEDs across the entire back of the display, the Liquid Retina XDR display features up to 1000 nits of full-screen brightness, 1600 nits of peak brightness, and a phenomenal 1 million-to-1 contrast ratio to enhance creative workflows. The result is a stunning visual experience that reflects what can be seen in the real world by capturing the brightest highlights and the most subtle details in even the darkest images. Now creative professionals, including photographers, videographers, and filmmakers, can view and edit true-to-life HDR content on a large display they can take anywhere.

I have to say, with all the other unfulfilled promises lately, I'm not expecting this release to amount to much. My late 2019 16" Pro finally died, after frying 3 separate boards (Apple's 'rapid charging cable' was way too powerful for the design), so now I'm waiting to see what they finally release, but I'll likely go with another 18" Mac Pro instead, as a 32gb Mac just isn't much for a "Pro" model. Great for cruising the internet, but not for creating content.
