My iPhone 4 (GSM) thinks its an iphone 3

Hi ya's my 13 yr old has an iphone4. after she claimed to have jail broken it,it refused to work again. I'm trying to fix it for her.(fool that I am ) i have very little of an idea of what I'm doing,but I'm going to try to help her. using redsnow I looked at the information about the phone and its reporting that this is an iphone 3. looked up the info on the phone... model a1332 emc 380a fcc id:bcg-e2380a from what I can see from different sites and what I remember this should be an iphone4. anyone have any idea as to what she might have done?..and how I can possible fix this? please?
