It's absurd to criticize someone because he's not openly and publicly giving away half of his hard-earned money. This editor at NYT is a fool to even write something like this.

Hard-earned money? What a load of bull! How do you quantify the value of your work compared to others. Put things in perspective. Jobs is going down just like the Rockefeller family did in the late 1800's because nobody likes a greedy basterd.

Yes! Hard earned money. You need to stop criticizing him and do something with your life dude.

Okay, let me see if I understand your logic: Steve Jobs made a lot of money (not Rockfeller-like, but I will give you that), so he must had it easy. You, on the other hand, makes just a few bucks, so you earned it harder. Is that it? You can call yourself Communist, Anarchist or whatever, just don't be dumb.

Capitalist billionaires pick their pet causes to give back to the community because it's the right thing to do...for their public image and for their soul. It's a win-win situation. How many mansions and jets do you need before you realize the money doesn't help the way you feel about yourself? It's not communist or anarchist to believe in philanthropy, it's makes good business sense and it's good for your integrity. Now that people know this about Steve, they see him in a different light and his reputation will suffer. if hard work was equal to success, we'd all be rich. Jobs has been really lucky.

People have known this about Steve Jobs for 25+ years. Poor guy must be having a hard time sleeping at night because of his name being dragged through the mud *sarcasm*. Give me a break. Who cares if he's given to charities or not. No one has any less respect for him...well, people that matter at least. I'm 100% positive that you do not matter to him
