Most people have no idea what they’re doing when it comes to repairing technology. These devices can combust. I personally think it’s a good idea that Apple is moving towards no longer offering the ability to upgrade your device on your own. Most people think it’s selfish and they’re greedy but from a safety standpoint, I feel a lot safer knowing the person next to me did not mess with their phone versus questioning whether or not they did on a flight from LA to NY. At least I won’t have to worry if the phone catches or blows up when I fall asleep. Some say it’s taking it to the extreme, however we should always plan for the worst case scenario. We basically have mini bombs (smartphone batteries) in our pocket
