RBC Capital Markets analyst Doug Freedman has released a note suggesting that Apple is moving up production of the next generation iPad mini, reports CNET.

Freedman is in China visiting companies and offered this note:

"iPad Mini Gen-2: Apple's gen-2 iPad mini is getting pulled-in, and is likely to have several new suppliers, with TXN gaining content."

Unfortunately, we don't know when Apple was planning to update its smaller tablet.

Interestingly, Freedman also offered a comment about Samsung phones saying, "Samsung handset road-map: Samsung display will be ready to ship unbreakable plastic substrate screen by 2q end, with bendable in 2h13."
