Some production lines that make iPhone 5 and iPad mini devices will be kept open during the Chinese New Year due to high demand, reports United Daily News via Brightwire.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. has decided to operate a certain amount of production lines during the Chinese New Year to meet the market demand for Apple's iPad mini and iPhone 5.

Apple's printed circuit board supplier Flexium Interconnect will operate its plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, through the Chinese New Year, and has trained a large number of students for the production.


Apple is expected to have had a strong holiday quarter. A recent report said there were 332% more smart device activations on Christmas Day than the baseline for December.
