Pod2g Launches 2G Lab to Focus on Development and Security Research

Pod2g, the hacker behind recent iOS jailbreaks, has announced 2G Lab, a company that will focus on development and security research.

You reader certainly know that I have not been really present in the security field since a few months now. The reason of this was the creation of my company, 2G Lab, focusing on 2 different areas : development and security research.

Now that our first application, named podDJ is out to the AppStore, we will focus on both subjects. If you have a project that you would like 2G Lab to work on, contact us: contact at 2g-lab dot com.

This announcement offers some hope that pod2g will turn some of his attention towards finding exploits in iOS 6 that could be used towards a public jailbreak. Recently he stated that he hasn't worked on security research for 'some months'.

For a security researcher... The company is registered in Lyon, France. The funny thing is that if your at look the address on maps.google.com (using the STREETVIEW finctionnalit), it looks like a residential address, so probably POD2G home's address. i think with the new way"25pp" to run cracked apps on unjailbroken devices which has been created bt the chinees there is no need to jailbreak.... except you would like to run sydia tweaks but the good news of jailbreak is on the way and the hackers has promised that they will publish the new jailbreak as soon as apple get the ios 6.1

I don't blame Pod2g for making money.

I would say that this announcement offers absolutely ZERO hope, other than pod2g finding iOS exploits that he will immediately report to Apple. He has gone all 'white hat' on us.
