Foursquare has released an update to their iOS app that brings improved check-in notification settings.

Over 30 million people use Foursquare to make the most of where they are. Our free app helps you find great places based on where you and your friends have been. Discover what’s nearby, search for what you’re craving, and get deals and tips along the way.

Features:
✓ Share and record the places you visit.
✓ Get personalized recommendations and deals based on where you, your friends and people with your tastes have been.
✓ Search for anything (from 'free wi-fi' to ‘dumplings’) or browse popular categories.
✓ Discover insider tips and lists from local experts, brands, and celebrities.

What's New In This Version:
With this update, we're improving check-in notification settings to help you keep up with the people you care most about. Head to your settings from the profile tab to try them out!

✓ Choose "ALWAYS" for close friends and family you always want to keep up with. You'll get notifications for all their check-ins, no matter where they are in the world.

✓ Choose "NEARBY" for friends you'd like to hear about from time to time. We'll only notify you when they're close by.

✓ Choose "OFF" for those acquaintances you don't really want updates from. And that bike messenger friend who checks in at every spot on his route.

You can download Foursquare from the App Store for free.
