Compared to the more durable iPhone 5, Samsung takes a step backward with the Galaxy S4. While the S4 proved slightly more water resistant than its predecessor the S3, Samsung's new Galaxy phone actually performed worse in most other categories.

Each device is reviewed and scored based on a number of factors from physical characteristics to the results of our SquareTrade Drop Test. The higher a device scores, the higher the risk of it breaking due to an accident - like sliding off a kitchen counter or having coffee spilled on it.
The iPhone 5 had the lowest chance of breaking with a score of 5. The Samsung Galaxy S3 scored 6.5 and the new Samsung Galaxy S4 scored 7 with the highest chance of breaking.
