Samsung co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun told reporters at an industry forum in Seoul yesterday that he expects the Galaxy S4 to pass 10 million in sales next week, reports the Korea Times.
“We are confident that we will pass more than 10 million sales of the S4 next week. It is selling much faster than the previous model S3,” he said.
Samsung began selling the S4 in Korea on April 26th and in other countries on April 27th. Based on Jong-kyun's estimates, the Galaxy S4 will become the fastest selling smartphone in Samsung's history.
“Samsung spent 50 days to pass the 10 million sales mark for the S3. The S4 will be Samsung’s first '10 million seller’ device less than a month after its official debut,” Shin said.
Apple is facing increased pressure from devices like the Galaxy S4 to increase the screen size of the iPhone; however, it's still unclear if or how the company will react to its larger competition.
Samsung says spending big on advertising campaigns such as this one targeting Apple users helped the company boost sales.
Again another masterpiece from you ! I be honored if I live in mothers basement then at least i am getting some home schooling and I will know the difference between 10M dollars and 10M units lol why just can't admit your mistake dude ?! I just try to teach you a basic lesson
Oh I know I made a mistake but why you had to get so mad about it? I should have said 5M iPhones in 3 days vs Samsung Galaxy S4 10M in a few weeks. And by the way you hurt my feelings bro really.
Well, I tried the Galaxy S3,( from an IP4) that lasted about a month before I went back to Iphone, and got the Iphone 5. If Apple does go for a bigger screen, I hope they keep the IP5 alive, the bigger screens are nice for viewing of coarse, but overall the IP 5 is the perfect size for me, easy to hold and navigate and slip in your pocket.
Not Really.. I wasn't able to find iphone on the shelf for weeks on end in Singapore. S4 on the contrary is available all the time except for the 1st week(fans gobbling it up). Even the smallest of shops and distributors have S4 in stock, meaning its selling lot less then its shipping, and those numbers are not the same as apple's where it was selling the copies it was shipping.
OR... Samsung simply better stocks their product, rather than create false hype by under-supplying their vendors.
I'm in NY, many retailers here got less than 10 iphone 5's when they came out.
I have an iphone 5 and ipad 4 so I am not a droid fanboy.
