Evad3rs Release Evasi0n iOS 7 Jailbreak 1.0.1 With TaiG App Store Removed

Posted December 25, 2013 at 12:36am by
The evad3rs have just announced the release of evasi0n 1.0.1 with the removal of TaiG App Store from the evasi0n installer. The team previously had the TaiG Store remotely disabled. You can head over to our download page to grab the latest version.

Pod2g announced the news on twitter:

We have heard the community. Evasi0n 1.0.1 is available on http://evasi0n.com. TaiG has been removed from the package. Merry Christmas!

For those that keep getting stuck on boot logo with iPad 2 models, the team promises that a fix is coming. Hopefully by tomorrow!

We still have to work on the compatibility issue with the iPad 2, but we have been busy celebrating with our family... Tomorrow probably!

No word on any other changes in the 1.0.1 version of evasi0n7. Just today, Cydia was upgraded for iOS 7 -- the final major piece left for an update is MobileSubstrate, which should happen soon.

If you are experiencing stock app crashes after jailbreaking, try these steps: 1. Open Cydia and navigate to the 'Manage' section, then the 'Packages' section. 2. Remove conflicting packages and respring your device. 3. Install iFile. 4. Open iFile and navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Caches. 5. Delete 'com.apple.LaunchServices-054.csstore' and 'com.apple.mobile.installation.plist'. 6. Close iFile and reboot your iPhone. 7. Your stock icons should reappear and apps should open properly.

I guess the "Maybe tomorrow" comment regarding the iPad2 WiFi incompatibility issue from Evad3rs was a bit premature, and too lofty a goal to set. Kind of like the initial release of Evasi0n 7... Too bad. I was really hoping I'd be able to jailbreak my iPad. Who knows... Maybe GeoHot and his mates will step up and do it right! Wouldn't that be great! Sorry... Just disappointed. I do appreciate all the hard work, and what Evad3rs tried to do.

Have you changed setting on your mac. You have to go to System Preferences and allow third party apps.

Used evasi0n 1.01 to jailbreak an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.0.4 and now it's in an endless reboot cycle. This is an issue because the power button on my i4 is broken otherwise I'd put it in DFU mode and go back to stock. Thankfully the i4 is used just as an iPod so it's not a huge deal but still if this was someone's daily use phone they'd be hosed. Thanks evad3rs for a rushed product.

If you didn't disable your passcode, you would have gotten the endless reboot. That was one of the things that they warned about in their jailbreak, had you read the readme.

I had no passcode on the phone to begin with and I did read the readme. So you were saying?

if you have updated OTA, do a full restore BEFORE the jailbreak ... Read the Read me man ..

Found another bug. When you play a video, the upper info (signal strength, carrier, Wi-Fi, time and battery indicator) is visible on top of the video. Running Evasi0n 1.0.1.

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak (Absynthe). Now that Evasi0n iOS 7 is available, I wish to upgrade the firmware to iOS 7.0.4 and then JB. However, just in case I do not like iOS 7 (I worry about lagging problems or unpleasant user interface), will I be able to downgrade back to 5.1.1 ? I have saved my 5.1.1 SHSH blobs on my PC, however, since TinyUmbrella does not seem to be able to connect to the TSS server any longer, I have no idea if I will be able to downgrade. I have not performed any downgrade operation before. Could someone kindly advise ?
Fanaric
Fanaric - December 26, 2013 at 1:39pm
I suggest don't upgrade. IOS7 lags noticeably in Iphone 4. And the restoring to 5.1.1 is clumsy incase TinyUmb not working properly.
Jeffrey de la Haye
Jeffrey de la Haye - December 27, 2013 at 1:46am
I advise you to upgrade your iPhone 4 to iOS 7. It doesn't lag at all on my 5S. If you experience lag on 7.0.4, you can always upgrade to iOS 7.1.
Morbius
Morbius - December 27, 2013 at 6:46am
Thanks Jeffrey. But I am quite puzzled by your answer: * IP4 and IP5S are quite different machines, with different architecture and processor. How can you anticipate the behaviour of an IP4 on iOS 7.0.4 from the behaviour of your IP5S on the same OS ? * in case my IP4 appears to be lagging on 7.0.4, what makes you think that the problem will disappear when I upgrade to 7.1 (when released) ?

From everything I've read it's not possible to go back to iOS 6x from iOS7x... I hope I'm wrong though.

Here's some update. I ran a 4S with IOS 5.11. Steps I followed - Download 7.04 update, backup my device, done a complete 7.04 restore from Itunes, JBraked using evasi0n 1.0 as instructed. Connected to wifi and updated cydia to latest version 1.19. Added all my previous repo sources and did few more basic updates. That's all until now. The only thing left is restoring my backup. So far everything is working fine. No noticable performance lag on my 4S with IOS7.04. Battery is also running well with all these effects, parralax etc. I am still checking thorougly for any bugs/problems. But I guess JB with following evad3r's instruction carefully won't cause unwanted troubles. I'm yet to get my hand on my friend's 5S who wants to JB too. Will update here ASAP.
