Apple has set the opening date for the first retail store in Brazil as Saturday, February 15 -- as noted on its website and in an email sent to local customers. The store will be opening at 11AM local time, according to the email sent in by an iClarified reader, and it will be located in the luxurious VillageMall shopping center.
Apple Store VillageMall Avenida das Américas, 3.900 Barra da Tijuca Rio de Janeiro, RJ 22631 (21) 3179-3700
Apple originally confirmed the store would be opening back in November. An additional report also stated Apple would be trying to seek some U.S Retail Store employees to temporarily relocate to Brazil in order to educate new employees on various in-store procedures.

You wouldn't believe it.
An iPad 16GB wifi+3G costs here amazing R$ 2,049.00 or US$ 840.00, against US$ 629.00 in US.
It was worse before. Since Apple has started assembling iPhones and iPads in Brazil the prices felt down.
A little.
