iOS 7.1 adoption reached 5.9% in North America just 24 hours after its release, reports Chitika.
At 5.9%, North American iOS 7.1 adoption has progressed at a very similar rate to iOS 7.0.6. 24 hours following that release, iOS 7.0.6 users generated 6% of total iOS traffic, averaging to about 5% over the course of the full day. Considering Apple’s update notification strategy, along with these two data points, it seems likely that future minor iOS 7 version updates will experience highly comparable levels of adoption.
Chitika examined tens of millions of U.S. and Canadian iOS-based online ad impressions from March 9 through March 11, 2014 for the study.

I don't know why they even post this, as if anyone really cares what percentage of people upgraded their software

It's to compare how many are on an os compared to the others.

Why is it that those of us who use IOS usually find bugs within the first day of downloading it? If we can find the problems immediately, why can't Apple? After all, they wrote the code! My belief is that some bugs are left in on purpose. This causes people to download the next version (to get rid of the bugs)! But in reality, it brings more people into the fold of non-jailbroken devices...and on and on and on...and on!

Probably because of a defective device.

More likely they are important people with real jobs who don't live in their Mommy's basement.
