Apple is reportedly set to begin mass production of its new 4.7-inch iPhone 6 displays in May, reports Reuters. The new larger device is expected to launch this fall; however, a bigger 5.5-inch version of the smartphone could be delayed, say sources.

Japan Display Inc, Sharp Corp and South Korea's LG Display Co Ltd have all been tapped to make the screens, said the sources, who asked not to be identified... Both iPhone 6 screens will be larger than the 4.0-inch panels on Apple's existing iPhone 5S and 5C models.

It's said that difficulties with production of the in-cell touch panel technology for the larger 5.5-inch display is what has led Apple to begin mass production of just the 4.7-inch version.

Just yesterday, photos leaked which allegedly show the iPhone 6 undergoing testing at Foxconn; however, we have not been able to verify their authenticity. You can check out the photos here.

sue Samsung on frivolous patents yet copycat its screen sizes, these people have a nerve!

Unless the phone screen size and shapes like the gaylaxy then it's copied, but if it were edge to edge which I doubt it to look like that it will copy HTC.

Really? Screen size is not a patented technology. Slide to unlock, automatic word correction etc., however are patented by Apple and they have a right to enforce those patents. Or Samsung could pay for the rights to use them. However stealing is the Asian way. Why pay when you can just copy?
