Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has followed up his previous report that iOS 8 Beta has hidden code for running apps side-by-side with a demo video!

UISimulatedApplicationResizeGestureEnabled (iOS 8 iPad split-screen multitasking debug) (video)

The code is demonstrated in iOS Simulator using a mouse, thus the awkward two-finger swipe gesture.

SpringBoard can run apps 1/4 size, 1/2 size, or 3/4 size. It's said that the feature isn't quite ready yet and that's why Apple didn't showcase it at WWDC.

I'll wait until Apple has a product worth promoting. Right now, all they have is the mechanism for switching windows. There's a hell of a lot more work, and it's unlikely to be completed any time soon. That's the nice thing about Apple, instead of rushing half finished technology to market, they wait until they can get the technology to function properly. By the way, I wouldn't ask MS how to do anything with smartphones and tablets. After all, they are hardly a shinning example of success in this market!

It needs more development, ask microsoft how to do it.

I wouldn't be asking Microsoft for development advice. Almost every single product they develop is a flop or bleeds money from the start. It's the complete opposite of what apple is doing. I think apple can figure it out for themselves. They've done good so far.

Needs more iq, ask a developer how it's really done.

Now that a straight copy from windows and android. Poor Crapple, just trying to copy each and everything to survive.

Nice strategy from samshit, paying you to joke and gimmick like it happens when Apple said nothing about this. Screwed delusioned spamsheep always treating shit too litteral, just trying to act like a smart ass wannabe to live, that's why you exist.

Now boys, play nice. There's no sense behaving like a troll while attacking trolls. The idea is to get everyone to behave like adults who respect each other's decisions about which devices to use. There's no reason why EVERYONE needs to run the exact same product, and people who continually harp and spew obscenities don't help people evaluate products. It just turns them off to the site (which, by the way, seems to be Samsung's motive in paying these trolls in the first place).

The only trolls here are ones that make the most illogical crap of themselves, here's an example- visiting a site involved with something they're against therefore they're here for jealousy. Besides I don't show myself off like one either.

Too survive? Are you serious? Apple alone makes more money than all of their competitors combined. Get real. It's hilarious how delusional you trolls are.

I heard it mentioned that this feature would only be on the iPad Air. Since the Mini (R) has the exact same resolution and processor that wouldn't make sense.

Still nothing revealed once about it, may as well not matter. Just saying.
