Photos of an alleged iPad Air 2 rear shell have leaked online, reports Macotakara. The photos were posted by weibo user elamhk.
The images show a rear shell with a redesigned speaker grill and a relocated rear microphone next to the camera.
In April an alleged front panel for the next generation iPad Air was leaked as well. Apple is expected to upgrade the iPad Air in the third quarter of 2014 with an A8 processor, Touch ID (fingerprint recognition), and a main camera resolution of 8MP.

It's going to be less thicker but the sides are the same but there is a mic on the back and the cut out between the volume buttons is different.

The problem I have with the speakers is that they happen to be placed where my hands end up muffling them... In my opinion... They need to keep trying to see how far they can push that small space while also making them work intelligently... i wouldn't mind speakers that would respond to how the device is held in order to rotate accordingly while considering where my hands will be while holding it. I think they could but a great deal of thoughtfulness to the design which I think many would enjoy.

No front speaker please. I like the full glass screen, it look sleeker and easy to clean. Get yourself a BT speaker

Why dont they put another speaker some where in the front. Those teeny-tiny speakers are rather outdated compared with the new tabs coming out.

Because the speakers are not meant to be the primary way to listen: They're meant to be for "casual listening". Apple envisions people using headphones with their iPads.

Times are changing and I think apple should start putting speakers front facing Other manufactures are doing it to their phones and tablets

Remember the iPhone with the earplug jack on top It was wrong and I always said it belonged on the bottom, the iPad needs FF speakers and that's where they belong. Thinking about checking out the surface pro ! When watching golf the commentators have them and they mention the NFL commentators will also !

Oh god no! Surfish is just another attempt to compete, but are you really going to give it up over speakers? Why not just buy one and make it point to you or just cup it. You can do that while holding but if apple ever were to do it HTC may file lawsuit to them.

I really wish apple would add a flash to the iPad's for taking photos, they can't use the excuse they can't fit one in there.
