Apple Stores have barely any iPhone 6 Plus stock for launch tomorrow, according to a new report from BGR.
We just spoke with multiple sources at carrier stores and authorized Apple retailer partner locations, and the straight up fact is it’s going to harder to find an iPhone 6 Plus tomorrow than a Turbo Man. We are told that stores have been receiving shipments all throughout the day, and out of all the new iPhone 6 models received, typically only about 2-3% are iPhone 6 Plus units, and in only one color.
BGR was even told by a source that there's “no chance” of finding an iPhone 6 Plus unit to purchase tomorrow.
While inventory levels will of course vary by store. Apple did sell out of pre-orders of the iPhone 6 Plus very quickly and they are now showing a 3-4 week shipping estimate.

it's because apple have misread the market by thinking everyone will stick with the smaller phone when it seems to me from reading the forum site that the opposite is true. People are looking for the bigger screen and after have Samsung notes for the last 3 years 4.7 inch screens are too small.

Apple is losing ground and quickly losing credibility around their products. They can't even deliver on their launch date.

I know..Just came back after spending 3 1/2 hours in line only to be told they were out of the plus while there were still about 90 people ahead of me in line.
Honestly I didn't really expect to ho home with anything and that's in fact how it turned out. Also this year they were really poor at dealing with the people in line..No cards (where you could say which model what you wanted) were handed out and no refreshments either.

Ok. What's op with all the people in here posting under obviously fake names that are clearly not legitimate usernames. Why does iclarified even allow these obvious trolls in here?

Just came back from best buy to try the demo units.
Honestly, if you have a iPhone 5S and upgraded to IOS 8 recently, you will have to a really a 'blind' Apple fan to find a difference between 5S and 6, other than the screen is stressed out insignificant.
Using Apple decies for over 5 years, I am sorry, I could not find myself excited this time around.

He wasn't blaming apple. He clearly was upset with TMobile and was hoping apple would look into it. It's in their interest. Yes because so many people want TMobile now.

The 'unidentified' problems were most likely the usual problems. ATT's servers probably couldn't handle the load when Apple had to connect with them to verify upgrade eligibility. That caused massive backlogs, slowing the system way down. This would affect Verizon customers as well, since it bogs down the entire Apple system. No, I don't have any proof that this is what happened. Call it a VERY educated guess. Anyone care to bet against me?

I just spoke with some customer service folks at Apple. They explained that it was the carriers' servers that were overwhelmed, more so than Apple itself, and that was keeping the orders from going through. At any rate they were very nice and decided to throw in a free leather case with my order to make up for the inconvenience. So that's that. I'll try the store tomorrow just for the hell of it..maybe get lucky like I did last year with the 5S. Here in Ohio the Apple stores aren't the madhouse you might see in the big cities. Sure there'll be a line but not all that bad and they'll probably do like last year and give out refreshments to those waiting.

Zetaprime, that's nonsense. The entire Apple Store was down for more than three hours. That's got nothing to do with the carriers. Glad you got a free case though.

I wonder how many of these 6 plus are going to be returned for a regular 6 once people realize it's just too big.
0
Kornmehl - September 18, 2014 at 10:29pm
That's an easy question to answer: nobody. The people who ordered the 6 Plus KNOW how big the phone is that they ordered; that is why they ordered it.

I think it's walk ins, though I don't really think they should have let anyone have them until they were able to fairly handle everyone. I tried to order via the app starting at 3:01am that day and got screwed and ended up with a ship date in 3-4 weeks while others seem to have had theirs shipped already. That's just wrong. None should have shipped.

You can't be serious. You're saying that because YOU had difficulties, EVERYONE else should be made to wait to get theirs until you get yours? This may be the most self-centered thing I've every heard.

No, they had some unidentified problems. It took several hours beyond the 'official' launch before it was available (whether that was by design or choice is anyone's guess as Apple isn't admitting). As a result, most of those on the East Coast gave up and went to bed instead. Thus you have millions who now feel cheated. They were ready to purchase at the designated time, they waited hours and still couldn't order. Faced with losing the entire next day (when many had to work) it was either sleep then or then entire next day.
I'm in the same boat, as is everyone on the east coast. Actually, those in Europe were luckier. Rather than waiting up, they probably simply slept in and got up early to order once the site was fixed.

Thank you for showing some compassion and understanding rather than gloating like some lucky person and accusing those less lucky of having 'sour grapes'. Apple screwed up and owes us a big apology and a promise to avoid this in the future.

Is this just for walk in's? Will people that pre ordered for personal pick up be able to get their phone?
0
iClarified - September 18, 2014 at 8:32pm
Yes, this would apply just to walk-ins. Units for pre-orders should be there.

zetaprime - September 18, 2014 at 8:15pm
Guess the rep on the phone they day I tried to order was right about there not being any Plus at the stores.
