iPhone 6 Plus Camera Review: Iceland [Video]

Travel photographer Austin Mann has posted a nice review of the new camera in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Mann has had his work widely published in both corporate and non-profit worlds, from National Geographic and the Travel Channel, to Samaritan’s Purse and the Global Poverty Project. He was given the opportunity to take the unreleased iPhones to Iceland for testing.

Every year, the new iPhone is packed with new features across the board but for us photographers we really just want to know one thing: what does all this mean for my camera and how does it make my pictures better than before? So the night of the Keynote, in partnership w/ The Verge, I left on a mission to find out exactly that answer and have been comparing the iPhone 5s, 6 & 6 Plus for five days in Iceland!

We’ve run through waterfalls, driven through storms, jumped out of a helicopter, slid down a glacier, and even slept in a cave with an entrance shaped just like Yoda (picture below)… and best of all, the iPhone 5S, 6 and 6 Plus were with us every step of the way. I can’t wait to share the images and results with you!

The iPhone's camera has been improved with a new sensor featuring Focus Pixels for faster autofocus, making it easier to quickly capture any moment. iPhone 6 Plus users also benefit from optical image stabilization technology that compensates for hand shake in low light and works with iOS 8 to reduce subject motion. High-definition video on the iPhone has been improved with faster frame rates up to 60fps for 1080p video and 240fps for slo-mo, as well as continuous autofocus, cinematic video stabilization and time-lapse video. The FaceTime HD camera now captures over 80 percent more light with a new sensor, larger f/2.2 aperture and advanced new features including burst mode and HDR video.

iPhone (5) 5S isight camera hardware is actually capable of video autofocus. You can try yourself with "hyperlapse " app and see the camera focus automatically during the video. Just the Apple bundle camera app dont permit that... (wonder why) video sample http://youtu.be/iqTVm5xn-kc

Great camera!! Beautiful views. I must visit Iceland. The focus test at the end was impressive though.
