Apple has notified developers that within the next 36 hours, all prices on the App Store will increase in all European Union territories as well as in Canada and Norway; however, App Store Prices will decrease in Iceland, and change in Russia.
The changes are being made to account for adjustments in value-added tax rates as well as foreign exchange rates that fluctuate.

Within the next 36 hours, prices on the App Store will increase for all territories in the European Union as well as in Canada and Norway, decrease in Iceland, and change in Russia. These changes are being made to account for adjustments in value-added tax (VAT) rates and foreign exchange rates.
We will simultaneously update the Pricing Matrix in Rights and Pricing in My Apps on iTunes Connect.
We will also update the iOS Paid Applications and Mac OS X Paid Applications agreements, which will be available in Agreements, Tax, and Banking.

it is fair that Apple (an all others) have a base price similar in all the countries world wide, and on top comes the country taxes. what is not fair is that for a iPhone in US i payed 650Euros and in my country Apple sell it for 730Euros also before taxes. that is why exists and will be always propagate the black markets, with ios apps are different because you dont have a choice, you can buy only in the country you have your credit card registred, with osx apps we still have mostly the developer web site that usualy has their apps available for sale.

This is a very common business price changes everywhere and every company. Why are they making a big deal? It's base on actually dollar amount.

that is true if you are paying taxes for app sales in that country!
plus many app were already more expensive, eg in many cases apps costing $0.99 would cost ~€0.99

Absolutely, it's a very common practice with every company who knows how to properly count their books. With each changes of the dollar and taxes, you will changes in prices. The sad part is that it's cause mostly by economic changes.

Must've been warned about the app creators putting more content in them. At least we often get free app of the weeks every now and then.
