Google to Drop Google Plus Requirement for YouTube, Other Services

Posted by · 7250 views · Translate
Google has announced that it will drop the requirement of a Google Plus account for YouTube, content sharing, communicating with contacts, and other services.

In the coming months, a Google Account will be all you’ll need to share content, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and more, all across Google. YouTube will be one of the first products to make this change, and you can learn more on their blog. As always, your underlying Google Account won’t be searchable or followable, unlike public Google+ profiles. And for people who already created Google+ profiles but don’t plan to use Google+ itself, we’ll offer better options for managing and removing those public profiles.

The company also announced the change on its YouTube blog saying, "YouTube will no longer require a Google+ profile when you want to upload, comment, or create a channel. If you’re happy with everything as it is now, then just keep on keepin’ on. If you want to remove your Google+ profile, you’ll be able to do this in the coming months, but do not do it now or you’ll delete your YouTube channel (no bueno)."

The comments you make on YouTube will now appear only on YouTube, not also on Google+. And vice-versa. This starts rolling out today.

More details on the change can be found at the link below...

If only Google could have studied the statics of google plus before attempting to combine YouTube with it. Finally they smell the coffee realizing how shit Google plus really is. Just let it die already Google. No one cares and never did. Now if the 2009 style would come back because many say that's the best look and yet it keeps changing!

GOOD LORD! It's about time! I haven't been able to comment on youtube because of google+ crap requirements! I could have told u 2 years ago users would rather not use services than be forced into signing up for this crap!

Apple does listen to their customers what they wanted. Did you know they asked early iPhone 5 buyers what they want most. 2 years later up to 2014, they got what they asked for. Bazing!!
