An 18-year-old from Murfreesboro, Tennessee may owe his life to Siri, reports FOX17.
The teen was working under his truck when it fell on him, trapping his arms. Alone he tried to yell for help but nobody heard his cries. Then the teen heard the familiar Siri activation coming from the iPhone in his back pocket. He was able to "push up on his hip" to activate Siri and call 911.
Murfreesboro EMS, LifeFlight, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center's trauma team took over from there but if it were not for Siri, they may not have had the chance.

I agree comletely with Agnostic Charlie, and in addition to that: all th more reason to jailbreak your iPhone and install Untethered Hey Siri.
The boy could have been in a position where he wasn't able to move at all, or just had both arms/hands disabled. Siri wouldn't hav been able be of any use in that case to get help.

All the more reason that Apple should make Siri completely hands free and not just allow "Hey Siri" when plugged in.

Sir Isaac Newton didn't live in the dark ages. His work was done after the Renaissance, so his work didn't put him in danger of religious persecution.

He wouldn't have needed his hip to do the work if it was 'Hey Google'.

But if it had been "hey Google", the phone probably would have glitched out or crashed because of malware. But seriously, the best news is that the kid lived.

Android and iOS have different security profiles. Android has historically seen more malware due to the Google Play Store's lighter restrictions compared to the Apple App Store. While Android offers many budget versions, iOS focuses on a more closed system. This security model is why many prefer iPhones, as the strict App Store restrictions help keep the device secure, which can be life-saving.

I had my car fall on me while rebuilding my engine because I was too broke to buy jack stands. Not a smart move. Don't do it.
