Apple says that a bug which causes the controls on its new Lightning EarPods to stop working will be fixed in an upcoming software update.
The bug reportedly shows up after you've left the EarPods plugged into the iPhone 7 for a few minutes. Audio continues to function but the controls stop working, preventing you from adjusting volume, activating Siri, or answering calls.
You can temporarily bring back functionality by unplugging the EarPods and plugging them back in.
An Apple spokesperson told Business Insider the problem will be fixed in a future software update.

I don't have this problem. My controls still work well into 30 min listening to music.

It may be ok but it's not so good to keep like that I guess it's better to keep a pod rather than wireless

Camped outside apple store for 3 nights to find out 10 hours before iphone 7 go on sale that there will be no 7 plus available in store. Ended up buying jet black 7 so i can show off to my friends that i have latest and greatest. Now it is having #hissgate and this #earpodsgate
Well no matter what happens to apple, even they sell me empty box with just apple logo on it, i will still be their loyal fan for ever

First reports of the iPhone 7 hissing and overheating, and now issues with the Lightning EarPods.

Does Apple not test products before launch? There is also the iPhone 7 airplane mode issue. Come on Apple.

Apple can't actually test something before release like this because the EarPods were probably working fine in the betas
