There are more customers planning to buy Apple AirPods than planning to buy the Apple Watch Series 2, according to survey by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
12% of U.S. consumers surveyed say they intend to purchase AirPods. This is a very bullish sign for Apple, says BAML. "12% of the US installed base could lead to up to an incremental $3bn in revenue."
Customers who didn't show interest in AirPods cited the adequacy of their current headphones (56%) and cost (40%) as reasons for their lack of interest.
Notably, the survey found more customers were planning to purchase AirPods than Apple's smartwatch.
"Only a small portion of respondents own the Watch Series 1 and only 8% of respondents intend to buy the Watch Series 2."

For those that do not understand what airpods is, it is just a bluetooth earphones, airdrop is just bluetooth, apple pencil is a stylus. Apple called it their own way, so to make you think they have just invented a new technology.

You are proving to everyone that YOU do not understand what Apple has created. The Airpods have a special Apple-developed chip that works over and above the Bluetooth that it uses as transport with Apple iPhones. If you pair them with other Bluetooth phones then it will use plain Bluetooth. Otherwise, with iPhones you get the special abilities!

If you go to the gym most of the people there use bluetooth earphones. Wires bother them when they do their exercise. So there's a valid point of loosing the stereo jack. Motorola is doing the same, instead of lightning they use micro usb-c. It is not only Apple who is ditching the old stereo jack port. And soon others will follow.

It's no surprise many will follow. I've read this article saying how the jack will be obselete in the next decade, and I say we all should move forward like this. I can't wait for real wireless charging that will actually have distance away from the charger.

I would totally buy the pods but not in white. Why would Apple not make them in Black. They would blend in more in black then being a eye sore in white. It was no brainer. I guess as we all know Apple they needed to save black for next iteration of Air Pods next year. One thing for sure, since Apple made Bluetooth headsets called Air Pods , a lot more people will buy these. Cause when Apple does something the whole world pays attention.

What's wrong with spraying them black? We've seen other products done even as a way to replicate more expensive versions. To me, I like it just fine even if I did want black.

Haha, looks like they like the idea after all. Despite the removal of the headphone jack, people are interested in the new tech.

1. When something is named differently it's because it's based on how it works differently. 2. Compare the two based on functions. 3. The keynotes showed how differently the products work. Apple Pencil works with the display in order to draw faster than pressure sensitive pens. As for the AirPods, you just hold them near the iPhone you want to connect to and they connect easily.
