Apple's 'Let Loose' event on Tuesday is expected to last about 35 minutes, according to a new report from Mark Gurman. That would be about five minutes longer than the company's 'Scary Fast' event last fall.
Gurman shared his thoughts on Apple's event in a newsletter email today...
Apple has a chance to kick off a new era for the iPad at its "Let Loose" launch event planned for Tuesday. The presentation, which is expected to be about 35 minutes, should set the product on a new path. It's also an opportunity to clean up the confusing iPad lineup, which is currently made up of five different models.
The new iPad Pro models are allegedly codenamed J717, J718, J720 and J721, and will likely feature an OLED display, an M4 chip, a landscape Face ID camera, and compatibility with a redesigned Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
The new iPad Air will purportedly get an upgraded M2 processor and a new larger 12.9-inch screen size option.
Gurman believes will end up with the following iPad lineup after the event:
● iPad (ninth generation), with a 10.2-inch screen and a home button.
● iPad (10th generation), with a 10.9-inch screen and no home button.
● iPad mini (sixth generation), with a 8.3-inch screen.
● iPad Air: 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, with M2 chips.
● iPad Pro: 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, with M4 chips.
It's possible that Apple will simplify this lineup a bit by next year, dropping the iPad 9 and introducing a new 10.9-inch model. The iPad mini is also long overdue for an upgrade.
