Apple has captured 52% of the handset industry's overall operating profits with just 42.% of global handset unit market share, according to Canaccord Genuity analyst T. Michael Walkley.
"With Nokia in the midst of a challenging smartphone strategy transition and our checks indicating RIM and Motorola Mobility continue to struggle in North America given the increasingly competitive Android smartphone market, we believe Apple will gain further value share in the December quarter and could capture over 60 percent of industry profits."
Walkley estimates iPhone sales of 29 million in the December quarter, 104.4 million in fiscal 2012, and 140.8 million in fiscal 2013.

52% of the world's operating profit, from only 4.2% market share??? Either those numbers are seriously dodgy, or the iPhone is absurdly overpriced. I say both.
