Elevation Lab has designed the what is likely the best iPhone dock you've ever seen. The Elevation Dock was unveiled as a Kickstarter project seeking $75,000 in funding. In only two days, the dock has far surpassed its goal raising over $200,000 already.
Simple to use, quick undocking, and it works with or without a case. We didn't stop there - It's beautifully precision machined from solid aluminum and it comes in a gorgeous set of surface finishes, setting a new bar for quality and something that looks really good on your desk. It complements the high-level craftsmanship of the iPhone like no other.
A $59 pledge will get you an Elevation Dock with an estimated delivery date of April 2012. These will later retail for $90.
A $79 pledge will get you an Elevation Dock+ which adds shielded Line Level audio out plus USB power adapter. These will later retail for $120.
Take a look at the video below for more information on the dock...
An answer to an over exaggerated "problem".
What's wrong with using a cable? It's universal and works for my iPad and iPhone.

If you think a cable is a great solution, then clearly this product isn't targeted at you. You're, of course, most welcome to keep using a cable, but I for one hate loose cables. So I think it's a great idea!

Hmmm ... #FirstWorldProblems.
I just use a docking cable to charge and both hands to disconnect. Everything else I do wirelessly or on headphones.
My first reaction is wanting to parody the video and Gruber. A dock adds complexity to the iDevice. I want simplification - which I have found by NOT using a dock in the first place. Simple.

Well... Why is it the best iphone dock we've ever seen? What is so special about it? I don't think it is that special... and the price? Come on...

It will fail just like those other expensive docks.
Pffft retail for 90 and 120? I rather keep a apple dock.

Awesome! I'd buy one! I hate that the regular dock doesn't let go when I grab my iPhone!

Just cut the little hooks off of the side of the dock plug. slides in and out with one hand without a issue ... Doesn't lift off the table like video ..
Elevation dock looks nice but easy to make one similar for a lot cheaper

Interesting tip! I'll have to try that. Thanks!
Still it would be cool with an aluminum dock, wouldn't it? :)
