The Devium Dash is an iPhone powered replacement for your car stereo head unit.

The double-DIN unit features a faceplate that your iPhone docks into. The body offers 4x50w of power and also has 2 preamps running at 2V for front and rear/sub. Dash will also feature video pass-through for sending your video to an external monitor, FM Tuner, Bluetooth, and Aux-In.

Today's smartphones provide a level of connectivity, accessibility, and usability that has not been possible in the car audio market. Dash doesn't require that you learn a new interface to use your stereo. You already know how to use your phone to access your music, your navigation app, your phone calls, and the incredible number of other apps in your phone's marketplace.

While phones are very personal devices, people get new ones every few years. You may remain loyal to the same brand or move to a new company. No matter how frequently you update phones, Dash will be there ready to support you. Our innovative interchangeable faceplate design allows you to keep your phone at the center of your car.

The project has reached $22,000 of its $45,000 goal with 43 days left for funding. A pledge of $250 will get you one unit.

If there was one for the iPad it will be different story because what if someone calls you all that work to remove it while driving

First one? Check oxygen audio "o car", they have this available for a year now (even in a bit nicer design and a "solution" for upright usage). Wonder how well the business case have been done if he do not know the market? Anyway the o car failed for me as well for the case issue.

I dont think this guy tough about the people that use cases on their iphones, everyone i know has a case. So to use this you would have to take it out of the case? LOL i'll stick with my aux cable and my car charger, for less than $ 20 dollars.. Good luck

That would be fantastic if the springboard on the iPhone rotated on the home screen, fail. Looks like 60 - 80% of your buyers will have/need a jailbroken phone to fully get the experience your trying to deliver.

I see no reason that they can't create their own interface app signed by apple available through the app store that will work in landscape mode. Actually, from the photo it looks like a custom interface, not the springboard. Have you turned your iPhone on it's side while browsing lately?
