Google's Eric Schmidt says that approval of Google Now for iOS up to Apple in an interview at the Google Big Tent Summit in India today.

Q: When can I get Google Now on my iPhone?

A: Uh, on your iPhone? You'll need to discuss that with Apple. Apple has a policy of approving or disapproving apps that are submitted into its store and some of the apps we make they approve and some of them they don't. They recently did approve Google Maps, thank goodness.

From Schmidt's comments it would appear as the though the company has already submitted Google Now for Apple's approval.

Notably, what appears to be an official intro video to Google Now for iOS was leaked about a week ago.

Check out Schmidt's comments starting at 17:50.
