China's People's Daily Names Apple as Having Been Investigated for Porn

Apple has once again found itself in the People's Daily, this time on a list of sites and app stores that have been investigated for providing pornographic material in China.

The reference has some concerned that this might be another attack on the company. It seems strange that Apple, who has a very strong stance against pornography, would be listed alongside relatively obscure websites.

The WSJ notes that the appearance is different than the last:

The People’s Daily article is not featured prominently in Wednesday’s paper, nor does it make efforts to emphasize Apple, which is listed next to the names of other app stores singled out in the middle of the second paragraph of the article. According to Apple’s terms of use, pornographic content is not allowed on its app store.
