Apple has sold out of its first two batches of the gold iPhone 5s in the U.S. and any new orders won't ship out until sometime in October.
When orders first went live the iPhone 5s was available to ship in 1-3 business days. As expected the gold iPhone 5s was the first to sell out and it moved to 7-10 days. Now its just showing 'October'.

Apple handles their launch days terribly, i was at the app store at 5:30 am, before the lady opens she says there are no gold Iphones we just have the dark gray, now why would any company on their big day not have enough phones to sell, the att store only received 200 iphones that is sad, tim Cook is the most inept ceo out there.
I called Apple about my order. Mine had changed from 1 to 3 days to 7 to 10, while I was ordering.
Anyway, The csr had no other info, except he didn't know where the $10 faster shipping option came from. I did choose that option, but I have a feeling that Apple will ship them out using FedEx Standard Overnight and refund the $10.
My last iPhone 5, ordered from apple, was delivered that way.
I ordered by iPhone Friday morning September 20 and I will have it this Wednesday on the 25th. And yes I got the gold phone. I think for anyone who is now ordering, if you are ordering a gold phone, you won't have it until sometime in October
One is being process AT&T, the other unlocked is just being received But I have a feeling apple doesn't care about the unlocked being sold as much as the contract phone !
I got my order confirmation for a 32GB gold 5s at 12:11am....already fell to 7-10 days...c'mon...And now it already says "October". I've noticed all gold ones on ALL carriers in EVERY capacity are sold out. Silver and gray especially were 1-3 days still.
What do you mean by "being processed"? I bought two 5S's on Apple's site. I don't have a shipment confirmation if that's what you're asking, but I got an order number with ship ETA of 7-10, which did, by the way, change from 1-3 days to 7-10 days DURING the order!
Two things: You had to be REALLY fast! within the first 5 MINUTES, as someone else said. Second, VERY LOW stock! I never even saw the "Ships within 24 hours" on ANY 5s! Only the 5c's, which are ALL still "within 24 hours" in EVERY color on EVERY carrier. Ridiculous, but Apple sure got plenty of attention in the media, all from biased Apple fans, of course, who were interviewed in line. I love Apple products, too, but I'm glad I didn't stand in line, because the likelihood that I was going to get the exact color and storage amount combination was nearly non-exitant.
It would be one thing if we hear apple sold a record breaking number of iPhones and is now sold out... WHAT WE WILL HEAR IS apple sold out due to disappointing supply of iPhones. New phones to ship in October/November
