Apple has updated its shipping times for the new iPhone 5s smartphone.
Since September 23rd, Apple had only indicated a vague 'October' ship time for all colors, sizes, and carriers of the iPhone 5s. That's now been updated to 2-3 weeks.
Earlier this week, Apple announced that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will arrive in Italy, Russia, Spain and more than 25 additional countries on Friday, October 25th. In addition, the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will also be available in more than a dozen countries on Friday, November 1, including India and Mexico.

It was 'ship in October' (about 18 days). Now it is 2-3 weeks (14-21 days). It is basically the same thing, just a different view of the timeline.

Maybe some wait before ios 7 fixing, that's another reason they wait, apple is doing what they can with ios 7 but we just need a way to send rumors to them to get people what they want ASAP!

This has been a very difficult product launch for Apple. Why is there such a long wait for a product even after paying deposits weeks before the actual launch? Apple needs to improve their shipping times.

Maybe it's either Samsung jealous of apple completely they can't supply them for a while or this is why apple hires blackberry people as employees but aren't here yet!

It's frustrating that Apple doesn't have enough iPhone 5S in stock, making people wait. They should have waited until they had inventory before announcing. It feels like the 5C is being pushed because of the 5S shortage. Is it true they're coming out with a third larger phone this year?

And nobody would believe what you said about 5c, maybe some can't afford expensive iPhones that are aluminum and made this one so everyone can buy one easily!

Goes to show how popular the phones are. The supply can't keep up with the demand!
