After a firefly update on my iPad, now when I get text messages my friends pictures don't show up next to there text messages but i can still see their profile picture

the recent updates have rendered kik useless. I put off updating because of the warnings from other users that it messed up the app.
now even the previous version isn't working properly - messages stuck at 's', now not even being delivered at all. :(
really hope they sort this out, as it had been one of my most used apps.
