Apple Watch sales could reach 1 million units over launch weekend, reports Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. The smartwatch goes on sale Friday, April 24th.

Munster also predicts strong preorders for the device in a note to investors. Apple will tally 300,000 preorders in the first 24 hours, he said in the note.

Munster didn't break out his sales estimates by model. With three collections and numerous bands to choose from, it will be interesting to see which combination comes out on top. Prices for the aluminum Apple Watch Sport start at $349. The stainless steel Apple Watch starts at $549 and the gold Apple Watch Edition models start at $10,000.

Here's a look at the various models you have to choose from.

Is this serious??! Even at the bottom price of $349, I would rather spend that money on something else. Are there some crazythings that Apple Watch can do but my iphone cannot? I don't have that extra money to throw away! Convince me, Apple: why is your watch should be more expensive than the other android wear watches and more importantl, why should we need it?

This is something I don't quite understand. I work out 3 or 4 times a week and my current equipment provides the info I need. I'd rather spend money on supplements or healthy food.

Apple products like the original iPad, iPhone, and even Macs from the 1980s are still in use today by collectors and enthusiasts.

Most people don't use the iPad 1 anymore because apps no longer support it. The iPad 2 was the one that really sold well for years.

It might be outdated by the time they sell that many, especially with the current buying process. It could take a long time for a customer to decide.

Outdated or not, if you look at past iPhones, they exceeded millions in sales even two years later. It only takes a few minutes to set up. Customers might take a few days to choose the right model, but certainly not half a year.

Starting price of $349 on "women" watch which is 38mm. And 42mm version is $399 which i doubt they'll sell 1 million units. Lets be honest, $400 isnt cheap for a watch nor smartwatch. And the people who spend $300 or more on accessories like watches, they pay extra for royalty. But the fact that $400 sports is cheapest version on the line, they'll be forced to buy atleast stainless steel version which starts from $600. Now when it comes to royalty, there is another factor other than just being expensive. For instance, people buy rolex because their time accuracy is superb and it'll survive extreme condition. Thats why Rolex watch's used market is pretty big. But little gadgets like Apple Watch? Better version will be coming out every year or two with the same pricing. And once newer gen comes, older ones lose their royalty since there is samething with better function/components. Nonetheless, i probably buy one just for the gigs. But not the very first gen since they gonna release second very shortly.

If you compare iphone sales to this, it sums up what you expect from sales from any Apple product.
