Touch ID has stopped working in the App Store for many users following their update to iOS 8.3. The problem is being reported on Apple's discussion forums, reddit, and MacRumors forums.
Here's what users are reporting:
Since updating to 8.3 I'm having problems with touch id and the app store. Before the update when i purchased paid and free apps it asked for my touchid. since i updated and I've changed no settings its asking for my password. Any ideas how to get it back to touchid. tried toggling the setting , re doing my fingerprints reset settings etc
The issue reportedly affects the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 but doesn't seem to apply to every user. It's likely that Apple will address this in a future update. The issue isn't critical and users can still download apps by entering their password manually.

Same here.. So far so good.. Hope the whole connection thing will be alright..? Last update actually messed up the iMessage part and some bad bug connections too.. I really do hope this is the last update before iOS 9.

I got the same problem. I'm probably repeating the solution people have been saying but I just went into Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode -> turned off and on iTunes and App Store... Fixed!

sorry if it does not work for you but this worked for me:
1) went to settings > touch id & passcode > entered my passcode > turn on itunes & app store
2) turn off phone
3) turn phone back on
4) downloaded a new free app (had to type in my password because of the reboot)
5) waited about 10 minutes
6) downloaded another free app but this time i was given the option to use touch id or enter my password

It works, just turn it back on in Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > iTunes & App Store.

Actually what he is saying is true. Go into setting/Touch ID/ then turn off all three switches (iPhone Unlock, Apple Pay, and iTunes & AppStore. After that it should ask for your account password. This worked for me. Don't try and it's your loss. Switching off just one of them ie iTunes doesn't work.

Touch ID works 0 out of 10. For me it is not a feature worth the effort of changing my habits.
As for Siri, I would give it 7 out of 10, but I am still better of asking Google with the speak to text feature.
The only valuable spoken feature is when I speak to text anything from an email, to a name or to a text message. This is really a great time saver.

Apple always boast like if they have it all figured out and they don't. I'm still waiting for them to fix the maps issue. Lol

This is exactly the reason I wait at least 10 days before I do any upgrading (to read about how bad the bugs are). For me, if I lost my Touch ID I would really lose it, and the disrespect from Apple after giving them so many years of our lives and our hard earned money is starting to frustrate me. I know I'm not the only one thinking this way; it's all Apple devices including the new Macs. I truly miss the old Apple with Steve Jobs when the device came first.

I had the same issue when I upgraded to v8.1.2. I had to reset (reprogram) the Touch ID, but Apple Pay wouldn't allow me to renter my basic info (address, phone # or credit card info). The only way to reset it was to do a clean install. It seems there's something cludgy with upgrading and Touch ID and Apple Pay.

Password re-entry at iTunes/AppStore has been compulsory every time iPhone is restarted, no?
Only thing I noticed was that all saved Touch ID fingerprints are deleted from iPhone when I first installed iOS 8.3 Dev Beta (can't remember which beta release).
Other than that, I have not encountered apps or iOS crashes since upgrading to iOS 8.3 weeks ago.

Never. The more complex the system the more likely it will have bugs.

Here's a solution, test Touch ID, or log out and back into anything that works with it. Worked for me.

You know what else stopped working? The pull up menu. I can drag it up to open but can't drag it down to close. I have to tap on the background or press the home button. Also not just on mine but others who have the 6 as well the sensitivity on the sides, especially on the corners is really poor. Please fix it. Also the keyboard won't go back to querty once I turn the phone back to vertical, the screen won't turn so again I need to press the home button.

Mine didn't get affected because I chose not to upgrade yet. I am still at 8.1.2 with my jailbreak and didn't need to upgrade to get those emojis, I simply used Cydia to get them.

Lately they do. Not as stable as it once was. I work for no one and I am no one. I just use the iPhone I still love but it's got issues. Lots of issues.
