Check out these beautiful 3D exploded renders of the Apple Watch created by Martin Hajek. The well known designer created the model of the Apple Watch based on the manufacturing videos posted by Apple.

Presenting a detailed 3D model of the inner components of the Apple Watch. I based this on the beautiful videos which Apple published; gold, aluminum and steel. This model is ideal for exploded views or animations.

You can purchase the model for your own use from TurboSquid for $100.

This looks awesome, great job! I wonder you it will compare to actual tear-downs, iFixit style.

Like you know what it takes to judge when products are outdated. Apple watch comes with the new paying method that makes card scanning feel outdated, it comes with animated emojis instead of cramming a list of them, it has thousands of faces, and can tell what you are doing moving the watch, body positions, and the list goes on. Look at people still using a 3GS and the iPad 1, heck the 2 even supports the latest iOS. Such their technology is old but look who still uses them. app,e watch won't be any exception.

FFS, those 3gs, ipads etc. can do alot of stuff than what the watch can do!!!.... They can play videos, music, old compatible games, take pictures even with old low res cameras, gps(some models), jailbreakable, etc. so they have longer usability even for a first generation. But what about the watch? It needs to sync to a phone for its messaging function or etc, fitness monitor? It isnt something new or to brag about, it can't even play music/video/store files. Besides those, it basically tells time/date but needs to be charged every couple of hours.

Most of the things the watch can obviously do without the iPhone yet it has news things past Apple products didn't have, and most of the new stuff on it work differently on the watch.

Try to compare this to a timeless watch with its lots and lots and lots and lots of complicated mechanism, this doesn't even come close to it....

That's the glory and magic of an apple watch. As you said, an old classic time piece has thousands of intricate pieces, and all they could do is tell time lol. The Apple watch has a handful of parts and it tells time, sets reminders, looks for directions, keeps track of your workouts, you can use it as a credit card to go shopping, make and receive phone calls, send and receive sms. A lot more than those old watches that do nothing but sit pretty on your wrist.

The green LED lights are paired with light-sensitive photodiodes to detect the amount of blood flowing through your wrist at any given moment. Basically, it's used to detect a pulse and measure it with the fitness app. It can also be used to detect if the watch is physically attached to your wrist or not too.

No, only water resistant. No smart watch that I'm aware of is even remotely water proof. Of course, I could be wrong.
