Users who pre-ordered the Apple Watch are seeing their order status change to 'Preparing for Shipment'.
Despite limited supply, some of the lucky customers who stayed up to pre-order their Apple Watch will get their smartwatch on what was launch day, April 24th. For many others they will need to wait until later in May or even July.
If you are looking to purchase one, a leaked internal memo reveals that you won't be able to buy one in stores until June, so order online.
Our Apple Watch pre-order status changed to 'Preparing for Shipment' a few moments ago. Has yours been updated yet? Let us know in the comments!

Im happy to say that I will be recieving my apple watch on Friday 4/24/15. I went to www.ups.com and went to track by reference. Enter your phone number and ZIP code, and bam i found my package. It says its coming on friday. Even though my delivery estimate on apple.com is May 13th to May 27th.

What part of the country do you live in? And which Apple watch did you order? I'm in Utah and still showing processing. Also, did you do standard shipping?

Hey Partha, I was fortunate enough to order in the first minute and my delivery is 4/24-5/8. Because your in Cali you probably won't get yours to change till about 2 days prior to your May scheduled delivery. Mine can theoretically take up to 2 more weeks and I'm in the first shipment. Don't be discouraged, just have a little patience.

I haven't, it's still showing Preparing for Shipment for me, Chattanooga, TN here. 42mm Stainless Steel w/ Black Classic Buckle. Maybe it'll update in the next couple hours or tomorrow sometime. I hope I'll have this Friday morning or by lunch at the latest!

And as far as I've read on different blogs, most, if not all sports bands are on back order because they were like 60-75% of the orders. Bands like the Modern Buckle, Classic Leather, Milanese Loop and the silver link band were smaller parts because they were more expensive.

I got the tracking number for the 38mm Milanese loop but for the sports one still showing preparing for shipping and I live in NC

As I explained to someone else in the comments below, it could take up to 48-72 hours before your status changes. This is just like when the iPhone 6 Plus was available for preorder online, I didn't get my change in status till that Tuesday of the week of release.p and got it Thursday. Just check every couple of hours, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll change later this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Again, this all depends exactly when you ordered it. If it was between the first 3 minutes, you're probably guaranteed by Friday. I know I've read over multiple blogs that 42mm are being shipped out before their 38mm partners (from people who ordered both sizes).

Thanks! Just one more question. My deliver date window is "May 13th - May 25th". Will I still most likely get it on friday? I mean i ordered it at midnight on the day of release.

I ordered mine at 12:06 AM on April 10th, but my order still says "Processing Order". I'm really confused because I pretty much ordered it within minutes of its release but it doesn't say "Preparing For Shipment". I'm really sad, I really hoped to get my apple watch by Friday. (It was a birthday gift) Any thoughts? :(

Which one did you order? If it was the black then it will probably be 4-6 weeks. My buddy's order was processed 7 minutes after launch and it said 4-6 weeks.

Well, it can take up to 48 hours for it to change. That's how it was for me when I ordered my 6 Plus, it changed the Tuesday morning of the week to be shipped and I received it by Thursday afternoon. Did you order yours right as soon as the Apple Store went live? Which deliver dates did you receive?

Everyone ready to awaken to realize how much clean and top quality this watch is?

MacGeeks - April 21, 2015 at 2:09am
This is probably just some Android hack job who doesn't realize that Apple has shattered the smart watch market in a single week, not even including the inflow of more and more orders everyday. This has potential, of course it won't be PERFECT in the first generation, no Apple product was. They're all finely polished over time like a diamond till it'll reach its peak. Did the original iPhone succeed as much as the 6 & 6 Plus? No, I remember no one literally owned one until the 3GS/4 rolled out. Now almost every other person you look at owns some generation of an iPhone. Same goes for iPads.

I'm in Utah and my order status hasn't changed either. Remember, our delivery dates say 4/24 to 5/8, so they could still ship in 2 weeks time and still meet their deadline.

I ordered at 3:01am in Orlando (I was on a business trip) and mine says expected delivery between 4/24-5/8. I live Utah and unfortunately my status has yet to change. It still says "Processing Items". Hopefully because I live so close to California and I usually get stuff that ships from CA within 2 days, they are just holding the order so I don't get it too early.

My status just changed as well, and my credit card was charged. I preordered the 42mm space gray "aluminium" sport watch at 3:01 am (EST) on 4/10. Still have an expected delivery date of 4/24 - 5/8, and am located in Greenville SC. Looking forward to Friday!!
