The WhatsApp Messenger app has been updated with the ability to call your friends and family for free. The feature is built into version 2.12.1 of the app and is being rolled out to all users over the next few weeks.
WhatsApp Messenger is a smartphone messenger available for iPhone and other smartphones. WhatsApp uses your 3G or WiFi (when available) to message with friends and family. Switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages. First year FREE! ($0.99 USD/year after)
What's New In This Version: • WhatsApp Calling: Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they’re in another country. WhatsApp calls use your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes. Data charges may apply. Note: WhatsApp Calling is rolling out slowly over the next several weeks.
• iOS 8 share extension: Share photos, videos, and links right to WhatsApp from other apps.
• Quick camera button in chats: Now you can capture photos and videos, or quickly choose a recent camera roll photo or video.
• Edit your contacts right from WhatsApp.
• Send multiple videos at once and crop and rotate videos before sending them.
You can download WhatsApp Messenger from the App Store for free.

The new call button for iOS is rather different than for Android. Android has a cool tab, which gives more info. We on iOS have a little phone icon next the the persons pic in the upper right corner of the chat screen. Also, there is no way of currently seeing call log that I can find. Because I knew that Android folks had to be "triggered" during this unrolling period, I had a friend call me to attempt to trigger the ability for me. If that worked, I'm not sure as I was looking for a user interface similar to android (ie tabs). I might not have noticed that little phone icon initially... By the next day, I surely noticed it and started using it.

@Gizmo
No, android user can't make a call to iOS user even if android user already using calling feature. I tried it didn't work.
I think when iOS user have that feature and if he will call to a iOS user then it will be enabled.
