Apple appears to be running out of supply of the 42mm Apple Watch. Shipping estimates for every model of the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport have now been pushed back to July.
Previously, many 42mm models had a shipping date of 4-6 weeks out or June. Now the online Apple Store indicates that every single variation of the 42mm Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport won't ship until July.
The delay is notable considering Tim Cook just announced that Apple was hoping to expand the sale of the Apple Watch to other countries in late June. That may be rushing things a bit considering online orders are already in July and the smartwatch isn't even available in stores yet.
Recent reports suggest that the low supply of Apple Watch units is due to manufacturing issue with the watch's taptic engine.

I just need a true story on my order placed just fater mid-night on April 10, 2015. This is the most disappointing deal ever with Apple! Would this been a better roll-out if Steve was still alive?
HPC Repeat Customer of Apple!

We didn't have problems with iPhone after the 4s. Steve or not with that out of the way, it wouldn't make a difference with him. I'm not saying he's bad but it's all the orders at once and for the first time judging how much space can fit per type of transportation that made this a problem. RPC repeat!

like i said in the past, these watches are MADE to ORDER. Apple knows the watch adoption can be a big flop, so they limited production a small number, and the rest who ordered will have their watch made as soon as they click "order". No inventory sitting in the warehouse. This is the exact same thing they did with the 6+.

Why would Apple limit orders? It called preorder for a reason. Besides why would they do it if all their past products have succeeded? For the 6 , you got to be joking. It bought the biggest android switchers than ever before which introduced recycling android phone at an Apple Store to help anyone towards a purchase of a new iPhone. We all know it.

Hey at least apple did the right thing and scrapped all the watches they had produced using the Chinese taptic engine. I'm sure this isn't the rollout they had in mind. I for one am glad I preordered on the 10th. Love my 42 SS BSB.

Exactly. This is the kind of work Apple focuses on for customers, it's as good as its stores are open to everyone.

this is getting stupid. every time apple rolls out a new product there's some "manufacturing problem" and it's in short supply while obviously they're just trying to save on warehousing and avoid storing products which is a good retail practice but they should really have better estimates of demand. this isn't a 'screw up', if anything it puts the apple watch into more demand as it becomes a rare item but I can understand how many costumers will be frustrated. I'm just glad I got mine on the 24th.

The Apple Watch launch has had some delays. A 3-month estimate for delivery is a significant wait for a new product.
