A new report suggests that the upcoming iPad mini 4 is essentially a smaller version of the iPad Air 2, according to Mac Otakara.
Compared to iPad Air the height and width of a iPad Air 2 are the same and the thickness is 6.1mm. Similar to this, the iPad mini 4 compared to iPad mini 3 is said to have the same height and width and a thickness of 6.1mm.
The site says that the iPad mini 4 will also have the same specifications as the iPad Air 2, including the same iSight camera and possibly a fully laminated display and anti-reflective coating.
Notably, Mac Otakara says that Apple is working on an iPad Air 3 which will feature an A9 chip. The site believes Apple could announce the new iPad Pro, iPad Air 3, and an iPad mini 4 together.

Guys, let's hope Apple makes a thinner version or make the bezel take advantage of it like touch the area where the switch is to activate mute/silence which switches it. Just an idea. If we can spread the word, maybe Apple can get this idea and everybody is happy.

@Apple: I won't buy an iPad without a lock switch.

Finally, some real upgrades to the iPad mini. I just hope focus pixel goes for both iPads and that the mute and silent switch can be put back on while maintaining the thinness of it.

I find the switch very useful when I want to keep the device from rotating the screen
