Apple Officially Launches Apple Pay in China

Apple has officially announced the launch of Apple Pay in China.

You can now support Apple Pay for your customers in China, providing an easy, secure, and private way for them to pay using their China UnionPay credit and debit cards. Apple Pay lets users buy physical goods and services within your app without having to enter payment or contact information.

"We think China could be our largest Apple Pay market," Jennifer Bailey, vice president of Apple Pay, told Reuters in an interview in Beijing.


This is the fifth market that Apple Pay has launched in. The company's mobile payment service is expected to face stiff competition from Tencent Holdings' WeChat Payment and Alibaba Group's Alipay.
