Instagram has announced an update its iOS app that brings a simpler design and a new icon.
Today we’re introducing a new look. You’ll see an updated icon and app design for Instagram. Inspired by the previous app icon, the new one represents a simpler camera and the rainbow lives on in gradient form. You’ll also see updated icons for our other creative apps: Layout, Boomerang and Hyperlapse.
Instagram has also made improvements to how the app looks on the inside. A simpler design puts more focus on your photos and videos without changing navigation.
You can download Instagram from the App Store for free.

You may have to delete the app and install it fresh again.

I won't be updating anytime soon. Why is everyone scared of skeuomorphism? Flat designs are so unimaginative.

Terrible new update. It looks terrible and so does the icon

I hate it, and not because I don't like changes , I do. but when they are necessary , this one feels like forced.

New app icon is hideous, fire that unnecessary design team and reclaim your iconic and industry leading identity.

The Instagram icon is classic, timeless, and ICONIC. There is absolutely no need to change it. Makes absolutely no sense!

I think we liked the previous design because it was classic and unique.
