iOS 11 Lets You Stop Apps From Always Tracking Your Location

With the release of iOS 11, Apple will force a 'While Using the App' option for Location Services.

Previously, apps like Uber required users to 'Always' allow Location Access. This meant the app had access to your location even when the app wasn't open.


While developers always had the option of offering a 'While Using the App' option, some didn't implement it, potentially putting the privacy of users at risk.

Don't understand why this wasn't an option in the first place, never seem to make sense to me

I hope that this is implemented as a global and app-specific choice.
