Apple intentionally removed the 3D Touch Multitasking feature from iOS 11, according to a Radar shared by Bryan Irace.
"Apple engineering has confirmed that 3D Touch multitasking was intentionally removed in iOS 11. I am livid."
If you weren't aware, the 3D Touch multitasking feature lets you press on the left side of the display to easily bring up the app switcher. A press and swipe will quickly take you to your last open app.
Here's what Apple had to say...
--- Apple Developer Relations Engineering has provided the following information regarding this issue: Please know that this feature was intentionally removed. ---
Did you use this feature? Let us know if it's something you'll miss...

just updated to iOS11 and as always they just had to screw something up. That was one of my most used features of the phone. Bring it back Apple!

Great feature! I don't want to presa my home button all the time for appswitcher. I will go jailbrake again. They should also make similar for closing apps , so not to use home button either. Like swipe up or left from edge... any how not to remove this great feature.

easy.. they are intentionally trying to break the iPhone 6s phones by requiring people to use the physical home key which will wear out prematurely. force some iPhone 7s and iPhone 8 purchases.

What???? That was one of the best 3D touch features, its so much faster and easier than pressing the button twice.
Really furious with apple for this!

I hope 3D Touch in general stays.

I don't care since I've got me used to either assistive touch without jailbreak or activator custom gestures/SwitcherControls to launch the app switcher and with the controls tweak, both, the app switcher and control center fused together ;)

This has no effect on me... I'm still on iOS 9.0.2. I have no idea what any OS above mine is like. Kind of a good thing if Apple is taking features away.

I disagree with this decision. This feature saves time and makes it easier to switch to other apps. At least add an option in the setting to disable or enable the feature instead of removing it.

I wish Apple hadn't done this. This is a most useful feature to avoid using the home button. I always use this feature to switch or kill apps.

What the? Had to be related to iPhone 8 and no home button?

When they first introduced the feature I thought it was stupid. Then I found myself using it all of the time! Please bring it back!

this was initially a jailbreak tweak back on ios 9....the cydia tweak is better because u literally touch the home button twice and multitask pops up. Tweak is called "Virtual Home"..

Virtual home is buggy and is a very good idea the tweak haven't bin updated since iOS 9 so if apple took it out maybe it's better off out. All the nonsense about wearing down the home button is nonsense most of you people will buy a new iPhone in 3 years and I bet your home button will still be like new.

It is also absent in 10.3.3 beta. Always worked poorly and was hard to invoke, except when you were not planning on it...

For how people say it takes iOS to the next level, I can kind of see why they removed it for some better function.

Never works for me anyway. Probably why the are removing it. Seems spotty on performance.
