Consumer Reports Ranks iPhone X Below iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 [Video]

Consumer Reports has posted its final iPhone X test results which score Apple's flagship device just under the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

"The iPhone X is an innovative device with a fantastic camera and beautiful display, but other phones are tougher and can operate longer on a charge," says Consumer Reports. The cheaper iPhone 8 and 8 Plus both proved more durable than the iPhone X in drop and fumble tests.

“If not for the damage in that durability test, the iPhone X would have come in ahead of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus,” says Richard Fisco, head of smartphone testing at CR.

The iPhone X was also ranked below Samsung's flagship devices, primarily due to battery life.

Taken as a complete package, this phone ranked a bit lower than Samsung’s S8, S8+, and Note8, mainly because of their superior battery life. But many longtime iPhone users aren’t interested in switching to Android, so the real question for them is whether to save a few bucks—or, actually, a couple hundred—and go with an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus instead.

Comparing the X to the 8 Plus the 8 Plus’s screen looks much clearer and better to read then the X I also prefer the button then no button

laughing with my iPhone X. as Tech Jedi said above.. performance, screen quality, camera quality, and innovation would be more better benchmark than durability. i don't know about iphone 8 battery life, but my X is performing better battery life than my 7 plus as i remember.

Poor scoring. I would expect performance, screen quality, camera quality, and innovation would be more practical than durability. Consumer Report is so outdated.

Odd that Apple didnt give durability any thought. I’d have been fine with a plastic (or whatever the other more durable phones use) the glass was a bad idea that they should have already learned not to do since an earlier iPhone had that too. But I have my x in a case so I don’t think that’ll be a problem. Would be nice if they made these things durable enough to use naked.

Where did these people get the results for the battery from? My X lasts longer than my buddies note 8. There is even youtube videos showing that. Consumer Reports often has questionable results; they can't even review a car right either.

ok, except every time my buddy drops his s8+ his curved screen cracks. Not to worry, for only $450+tax he can have his device fixed
