Apple has updated the technical specifications of its new HomePod smart speaker to detail which audio sources are supported.

Users will be able to play audio from the following sources:
● Apple Music
● iTunes Music Purchases
● iCloud Music Library with an Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription
● Beats 1 Live Radio
● Podcasts
● AirPlay other content to HomePod from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac

Of course, you will need an Apple Music subscription to play songs from the streaming service.

While the HomePod will not support stereo pairing or multi-room audio at launch, it's believed that these features could arrive alongside the iOS 11.3 update. You can pre-order a HomePod now ahead of its release on February 9th.

Agreed. What an overpriced crippled pos. Typical Apple limiting usage to its own ecosystem...
