The iPhone X Plus, one of three new smartphones Apple is expected to unveil this fall, will purportedly have a triple lens rear camera, according to the Korea Herald.
The site says that Samsung is planning to join the triple camera trend in order to keep up with Apple and other rivals.
“Samsung, which has a lower-than-expected demand for its latest Galaxy S9 lineup, will consider to equip its next premium phone with the triple cameras and a 3-D sensor to reinvigorate its smartphone business,” Kim Dong-won, an analyst from KB Securities, noted in a report, mentioning the next-generation iPhone that is rumored to have three cameras to appeal to customers.
It later specifies that only one of the three new Apple smartphones will get a triple lens camera.
One of Apple’s next premium smartphones, reportedly named as the iPhone X Plus, is also anticipated to come fitted with three camera lenses on the rear.
We've heard rumors of a triple lens camera system previously but those pointed to 2019 as the year it would debut. This report appears to suggest we could see the new camera this year.
The next generation camera is thought to have a 6P lens design, take 12MP photos, and feature 5X (presumably optical) zoom.

Why not just skip the nonsense and put in 6, heck, fill the whole back with lenses and get it over with. After, you can concentrate again on improving the battery!
