iPad 2 Exhibiting Yellow Tinting Similar to Early iPhone 4s

Users are reporting that their new iPad 2s are displaying yellow tinting issues similar to early iPhone 4 units.

At the time an AppleInsider forum poster noted that the issue will disappear over the next couple days as the glue dries.

Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow "blotches" will disappear.

As far as we know the issue resolved itself for most iPhone 4 users. Hopefully the same holds true for the iPad 2.

Well you could argue that it's a mistake to not give the glue time to dry before selling them.

Then the mistake was not making them earlier. I don't care either way, but I do think it's not unreasonable to call it a mistake.
