Hulu Removes Subscribe Link to Comply With Apple\'s Rules

Hulu has updated its iPad application to remove its subscribe link, complying with Apple's new rules, according to AllThingsD.

Initially, Apple demanded that if subscriptions were sold outside the app then they must also be available inside the app using in-app subscriptions at the same price point. The company has since softened its requirements and now permits applications to offer different pricing for in-app subscriptions or the option to remove the purchase link entirely.

It's thought that most companies will simply opt to remove the link to their online store as Hulu has done.
