Apple is being sued for allegedly selling refurbished iPhones as new devices to multiple customers in Beijing, according to People's Daily Online.

Apple stores in Beijing are allegedly selling used iPhones as new ones, as six Beijing consumers raised complaints Wednesday and two filed lawsuits against Apple with the help of a well-known counterfeit goods crusader. Six consumers who recently bought iPhones in Apple stores at Xicheng district's Xidan Joy City and Chaoyang district's Sanlitun, and some other authorized dealers, found their phones have a shorter warranty than the normal one year.

After returned to the Joy City store for an explanation some customers were offered a new device but no compensation. Another customer said staff tried to trick her by modifying the warranty date on the device; however, she refused and demanded a new iPhone.

An employee of the Joy City store said, "It's impossible that we sold refurbished cellphones."

The consumers are asking for compensation at twice the price of the cellphone plus legal fees and would like an apology from Apple.

Much to do about nothing: Apple's Warranty checker makes and educated guess when you do not have the receipt, based on the date of manufacture. If you have a dated receipt, the date of sale prevails. This doesn't prove that warranty service would have been refused not does it prove the phone was previously used. Note that one of the parties makes counterfeits which in other words, is a competitor.

I guess Apple is reaching the end of its cycle.. There are too many problems to handle, moreover I find that they are compromising in quality.. this is not based on this article but I have personally faced problems with my iPhone 3GS, 4.. Apple is better off with the computers!

You're out of your shell dude. I mean after Apple re-invented the phone, you want them to abandon it just like that?? Your brain has left and went to la-la land.
