Pod2g has announced that Planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and P0sixninja have joined his effort to release an untethered jailbreak of the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

@planetbeing, the legendary hacker behind iPhone Linux and lot of jailbreaks has joined the A5 research! The famous @MuscleNerd, the leader of the iPhone Dev Team, who did a lot of tests for Corona and whom integrated it and made it simple in redsn0w is willing to help also. And last, but not least @p0sixninja, the leader of the Chronic Dev Team, and my partner for years on iPhone security research has started to code and fuzz the Apple sandbox.

We now have a dream team to find a path for a public release of the A5 jailbreak. Cross your fingers.

Yesterday, pod2g posted a FAQ on why the A5 jailbreak had not been released yet. The key reason being that the exploit used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account.

With the help of planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and p0sixninja, pod2g is hoping to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.

Thanks pod2g for your hard work on the untethered jailbreak. I was able to jailbreak my iph4. I was able to install that bigU Movies app from Cydia everyone has been raving about. I already watched the movies The Devil Inside, Mission Impossible 4 & Sherlock Holmes 2. All I need now is the iph4S jailbreak and I'm set.

HI I remember couple of months ago they suggested everyone with an iPhones 4S warned us not to upgrade to 5.01 .. My question is I am currently on 5.0 and I have an Iphone4S. Should I go ahead update my iPhone to 5.0.1? Thanks

Well, one thing is for sure. If all this talent together can't find an exploit to tether (don't care if its tethered), I will sell my iPhone 4S and go to android. No point in owning an iPhone without a jailbreak. No Cydia tweaks is a deal breaker.

Well, still all I need to know is shall I update my Ipad2 or not and is yes, what if they dont get a jailbreak will i be able return back to my Jailbroken 4.3.3

Am not in a rush for the jailbreak. My iPad 2 is running on firmware 4.3.3 and it's jailbroken since day one. People should learn to never update there iOS devices unless there is a jailbreak.

That pod2g post just proves what I've been saying all along. They already have the A5/5.0.1Jailbreak ready, but won't release due to "copyright" issues... WAKE UP! 95% of the world don't care about copyright. Go to any country besides English-speaking countries and Europe. You see street vendors selling pirated movies, games.. everything you want. Just go to ANY torrent site and see the true world. EVERYBODY BUYS OR DOWNLOADS PIRATED ALL THE TIME! Stop hurting us because you don't have the courage to make an anonymous release of the Jailbreak in a torrent site!
